Description A Native American (Ute) Chief John McCook, stands next to a concrete tepee in Ouray Memorial Park near Montrose (Montrose County), Colorado. The tepee covers a spring and was erected in honor of Chipeta and Chief Ouray. Portions of the painted tribute are legible inside the tepee. Chief McCook poses behind a stone wall and wears a hat, scarf and suit. Posts in the ground read "Ouray, Spring."
