None of these men or companies,, claim to have any legal right to take this water c_.- of the Reservation except* that they" filed _nsp-.-s.with the Interior Depart inert some years ago, and that Hr.Critchlow, who was then Agent told them that if the Department and the Indians did not bother them he would not do so. The names of the Companies that are diverting this water are as fcl lows: Strawberry Canal Company, incorporated January 30,1655, under the law of Utah, the surveys J±KCE were made in 1579, and the officers are . Swen Bjorkman, President; V,. S. Flummer,' Secretary 'and. Treasurer,Post Office Address, 3uysville, Wasatch County, Utah. This .company cwns the Hobble Creek ditch which is used as a feeder during the high water.AThe Hobble Creek ditch, claimed by this company, is not the same ditch claim- ed by the Mc Donalds. There are forty eight stock-holders in this company. The ditch 'has been used continuously ever since it was constructed and it is in good repair new. : • 7a - -A-The Will Creek ditch was incorporated under the laws of Utah in 1692. The officers of this company are, Daniel Barrett. President; ...... William Buys, Secretary; post office address is Heber, Utah. While those people leave no it.ga.1 right to this water, I would reccmrr-tarra it is at all possible that you permit them to continue to use the water. I am sure that the water so diverted is in no way detrimental to the Indians, nor is it likely to be in the future. At the present tine there is only one Indian family within fifty miles cf any of the "-itches.
