Sir:- On Nov Id- /Jl I addressed aletter to you concerning an irrigating ditch in the vicinity of th<'> newschool buildings at Ouray I wish again to say that as the time approaches for the erec- -tion of said buildings J think that some action should be taken looking to thebuilding of the ditch. Iwill enclose you a rough outline of the locality with ditch marked the re on I asked in my letter of Nov.lG-z91; for autho- -rity to make a survey of the ditch and also acurate estim- -ate therefor which I now renew. The buildings are so located that without this ditch they will be without water:It is my expectationto bring into cultivat- -ion a large tract of land and to locate a great number of Indians on it as farmers in the vicinity of the sc7ioo2. as well as to furnish farm lands for the school: This I deem essential to its success. 7/AJ, 7X7/^- Z<^-^~Y A.
