Show DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR UNITED STATES INDIAN SERVICE Kiowa Indian Agency, Anadarko, Oklahoma, March 4, 1915. Honorable Cato Sells, Commissioner of Indian Affairs, Washington. Dear Sir: I have the honor to refer to your telegram of March 1st in which you state that you are considering my transfer to the Superintendence at San Carlos - such transfer believed for best interests of the Service and should take effect April 1st. It appears, from the increase in salary from $2150 to $2250, to be a promotion, and yet as only the best interests of the service are mentioned in connection with the proposed transfer it may mean something different. I feel in doubt as to the real meaning thereof owing to the fact that nothing has been heard from the results of the investigation of this Agency by Mr. Dorrington last Spring. Therefore, if I go to San Carlos I want to feel that I am going with a clear record and your complete confidence and a statement to this effect will be appreciated before final action is taken in this matter.
