Show THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON August 24 , 1923, Dear Mr. Secretary: Referring to your letter of August 22d, I beg leave to advise that the President yesterday signed and today sent to the State Department the draft of Executive Order, temporarily withdrawing from settlement, entry, sale or other disposition, a certain tract of land in San Juan County, Utah, pending proposed legislation for its permanent withdrawal for and as a site for a day school for Ute Indians.
