The art is traditionally centered around the city of Ise in Mie Prefecture. Multiple layers of thin washi paper are bonded with a glue extracted from persimmon, which makes a strong flexible brown colored paper. The paper is cut with a combination of knives and punches. Four principal cutting techniques are used."--Wikipedia. Note: "A yukata is a Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono usually made of cotton or synthetic fabric, and unlined. Yukata are worn by both men and women."--Wikipedia.
