Note: Rokuharamitsu-ji Temple (Practice of Perfection in the Six Realms of Existence), located in Kyoto, Japan, was founded in 963 by Kuya Shonin (903-972).--Sacred Japan website. Note: This temple has many outstanding sculptures from the 8th to 14th centuries. These include a wooden sculpture of Kuya (with six small figures coming out of his mouth, invoking the Amida Buddha) by Kosho and a statue of Taira no Kiyomori sitting, holding a scroll.--Buddhist Travel website.
