Structure like this is called sukiya zukuri, a building to resemble a tea house surrounded by gardens. View of the entrance indicates that Monjusoh here is actually a hotel "annex" named Shohro [Truffles] Tei, which is closer to the temple Chionji. Amanohashidate is a pine-covered sand spit whose name means "bridge to heaven." Image was scanned from color slide. Caption is from photographer's notes on slide |
