Description David Dickey, owner of Lee's Music in Price, Utah, shares his journey from a youth influenced by his mother's musical interests to opening his own store in 1976 at age 19. His mother, June, managed the store for two years while he served a mission in New Zealand, and he bought the business in 1980. The store adapted to market changes, thriving on the popularity of home organs, overcoming initial local skepticism, consolidating operations from Salt Lake City back to Price in the early 90s, and later expanding to include guitars and ukuleles while developing major event sales and piano loan programs for colleges in five surrounding states. Lee's Music also sponsored the Lee's Music Piano Festival for 15 years, fostering local musical talent, and plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026.
