Moss (D-Utah) has announced his support of an amendment to the Old Age and Survivors Insurance provisions, of the Social Security Act which would allow a man to retire at 62 on reduced benefits rather than at 65 with full benefits. At the present time women may retire at 62 with s a reduced pen- ion, and, passage of the amendment would give men the same privilege. The size of the reduction would be worked out on an actuarial basis. "This amendment is both humanitat-ian and sensible," Senator Moss said. will want to do so "I am confident that people who are able to work in order to draw their full retirement. On the other hand, people who are not able to work can stop when they need to and have something to live on. " The Senator said the amendment would not add any significant amount to the cost of government, and would not require an additional payroll tax.
