You wil.l. see from this el.ectromyographic specimen that both muscl.es show practical.ly the same el.ectric ·activity and it wou1d seem that they bel.ong to the same nerve.' In this connexion I was of course thinking again to your paper together with Nachtigal.l.er where you postu1ated the possibil.ity of a misdirection of the ocu1omotor nerve. I am quite sure that'this picture is the proof of your opinion of the misdirection and te11a us that the external.. rectus Jauet be innervated by some aberrant branch4 of the ocu1omotor nerve. If you l.ook at the l.ower curve, you will. see that the motor units appear at the same time exactly and this is not poseib1e in two different muscl.es innervated by_two different nerves!
