Description Fulminant idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) refers to the severe and rapidly progressive form of IIH. We report a series of 5 patients who presented with a combination of malignant arterial hypertension and fulminant IIH. The diagnosis of Fulminant IIH was overlooked in the setting of malignant high systemic blood pressure where bilateral optic nerve disc edema was presumed to be related to hypertensive retinopathy.
