According to the assessor's records, this house was built in 1899. David Murdock owned the property from 1895 to 1901. He then sold it to Mark Jeffs. Jeffs, who financed a number of homes in Heber, might have built the house two years later than the assessor shows. David Murdock, a farmer, logger and a stockman was born in SLC, Utah to Joseph Stacy and Jane Sharp Murdock. He married Margaret Todd on January 14, 1878. She died in 1921. Murdock later moved in the ranch on Red Creek in the Uintah Basin. He died in 1951. Jeffs owned the property from 1901 to 1903. William A. Mair bought the property and owned it until 1908. Mair was a miner at the Silver King Coalition. He was born in Heber and married Isabelle Bird Mair. They had ten children. He died in 1931. Then George D. Giles owned the house from 1908 to 1918. Giles was a farmer and a stockman. He was born In Heber on January 11, 1879 to William M. and Ann Murdock Giles. He married Mary E. Mair in December 25, 1899. He was a member of the LDS Church.
