Due to three additions, all made before 1923, it is now an L shaped house. It is made of red brick believed to have come from the Turner brickyard which was located south of what is now Morgan City. The house has a medium pitched gable roo~. All exterior wasssare about one foot thick as are those interior walls which were exterior walls before the additions. The brick is in stretcher bond with every seventh course being a header course. This pattern is also used in the Marcus Shepard House. The house is located on the corner of State St. and Young St. ant the center of Morgan. It i~ on a 1.46 acre lot on which are also a small barn, a shed, corral and an irrigation ditch. 3. The first addition includes the dining room and small bedroom. This addition is outlined in yellow on the attached floor plan. The second addition includes the bath,kitchen and the other bedroom. This addition is outlined in red. In addition, there have been added wood porches on the east and west sides of the house. A third porch, on the north side has been altered, The small windows on the north side of the house have been removed and large picture windows put in their place. Several other windows throughout the house have been made smaller. All of these additions and alterations were made prior to 1923 when the present owners moved in. ~he 4. Describe the nhysical ooncJition n:\: the site a.t t~l.e present ti"'le . The house and grounds are in good condition. The roof, walls and foundation are all sound and not in need of repair. The house seems to be well insulated due to the extremely thick exterior walls. 5. T!hat are the future plans for t:1.a site?
