Paula sold the Cafe portion of the Morning Ray Cafe and Bakery business in 2000, but kept the Bakery portion until 2003 under a new name, New Dough Rising Bakery; She then sold the Bakery in 2003, but stayed on as chief baker until 2006, when she retired.
