Historic Site Form (continuation sheet) 4. continued ... 1847 West 2100 South, West Haven (SJ-328) This property consists of a single-story Vernacular rectangular block residence that was built in 1904. There is one out-of-period shed associated with the property. Several mature deciduous trees grow on the property. Architectural Description Residence The residence on the property is a Vernacular crosswing house that was built in 1904 (Weber County Assessor [WCA] 1974), and measures 13 m square (42.5 ft square). The house has undergone at least one major alteration, a gable-roof addition, which measures 8.8-by-7.6-m (28.8-by-25 ft), and is attached to the west wall of the original house. This addition was constructed in 1968 (WCA 1974). The house rests upon a poured concrete foundation and the exterior walls are covered with aluminum siding that resembles clapboard. The gable roof has asphalt shingles and the gable ends are covered with aluminum siding that resembles clapboard. There is a square brick chimney located at the center of the gable peak in the original house structure. There is also a metal stovepipe located on the north side of the gable in the gable-roof addition. Two one-over-one double-hung windows are visible on the east wall of the house. Three windows are visible on the north side of the house. The first is a paired one-over-one doublehung window with wooden frames, sill and mullion. The remaining two windows are two-pane sliding-glass windows with metal frames. It appears that the window openings may have been reduced to accommodate the sliding glass windows. On the west wall of the gable-roof addition one window is visible. This is a two-pane sliding-glass window in a metal frame. The front entryway, located on the west wall of the gable-roof addition, has a wood panel door with a rectangular single-pane fixed-sash window. The door is accessed by a three-step straight entry poured concrete stoop that measures 1.2 m square (4 ft square). Out-of-Period Buildings There is a small gable-roof shed measuring 2.4-by-3. 7 -m (8-by-12-ft) located directly behind (south of) the house. This building is out-of-period and as such is not further addressed in this report. 1847 West 2100 South, West Haven (SJ-328).
