Title Love your block: an equity & advocacy planning approach to community empowerment
Date 2023
Description City planning as a field has undergone various paradigm shifts within its recent conception. Through these shifts, the purpose and responsibilities of planners and planning have also shifted tremendously. Each evolution builds upon its predecessors adapting to the needs and desires of those enforcing planning. This professional project will briefly discuss certain paradigms that have contributed to a rising emphasis on equity and advocacy within modern-day planning. I will analyze the impact of this equity and advocacy paradigm through various case studies of a nationwide mini-grant program known as "Love Your Block".
