Use continuation sheets as necessary. ° Resting on a raised concrete foundation, the one story high brick walls, articulated with a soldier course at the foundation, are capped by a roof, which is hipped at the rear and gabled at the front and sides of the house. The side gables are detailed with exposed framing members forming panels which are infilled with stucco, reminiscent of the English Tudor revival style. The main entry, covered by an arched canopy, is detailed in the Neo-classical style employing round tuscan columns. The main interior rooms are enriched by gumwood members including the fireplace mantel, casings, and trim. The house is in excellent condition and is unaltered with the exception of the new canvas canopies on the front elevation. According to Mary Lou Devey Nicholes, a daughter, the house was completed in February of 1930. As explained by Elisha Devey in a personal interview, the house was built by William Baxter, a local contractor, from a set of stock plans. Devey, who worked as a farmer at the time of construction of the house, was eventually employed at Geneva Steel. He worked there from 1938 until his retirement. His wife, Ida, died in 1976. Devey currently resides in Provo, utah. The property remained in the Devey family until acquired by Kenneth o.
