Title South Salt Lake neighborhood planning and placemaking
Date 2023
Description We developed a neighborhood placemaking and planning framework to implement plans for each of South Salt Lake's newly identified neighborhoods and executed a complete neighborhood plan for Water Tower. We researched case studies and considered the history of South Salt Lake through an equity lens to understand the policy and social impacts that have shaped the city's development and its neighborhoods. Throughout this process, we performed community engagement strategies, including public meetings, intercept surveys, public school outreach, engaging nonprofit organizations, focus groups, a block party, community event tabling, and identifying and utilizing the experiences of community leaders.
