A map of Beaver City is attached. Scope of Work Beaver Housing Authority plans to purchase the Aspen Lodge. It is an old Gas Station and Motel that was built in 1940. Originally it had 11 motel rooms plus the Gas Station. The gas tanks were taken out and the service station portion was changed to a restaurant in 1990. At that time the outside of the station was changed to look Spanish with a stucco finish. In 1993 the motel rooms were converted to apartments. Several of the Motel rooms had little garages on the side and these were closed in at this time. The inside was changed considerably as they tried to make kitchens and separate bedrooms and such. Several years ago the restaurant was converted to an apartment. With all of the changes through the years the outside looks as if it has been just pieced together. Part of it is brick veneer, part vinyl siding and part stucco. The south part has been changedto look Spanish and the north has been left brick. We plan to continue to use it as apartments for lower income families. It has been very run down and needs a lot of work especially inside. Because of this it only attracts tenants that bring trouble, so the reputation is very bad within the community. We plan to clean it up both inside and out, starting with the inside and finishing with a whole new look on the outside and a new parking lot.
