Description Non-Arteritic Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION) is one of the most common causes of optic neuropathy in the adult population. However, its reported prevalence has varied widely between studies, with the largest population-based figures recorded over 24 years ago and within a single county. The purpose of this analysis is to investigate the prevalence of NAION in the United States between 2015 and 2021, explore its association with systemic risk factors, and evaluate its burden among genders and racial groups.
