| Description |
Treatment with all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO) has emerged as standard therapy for patients with acute promyelocytic anemia (APL), with randomized trials demonstrating complete remission in up to 100% of patients (1,2). Previous studies have demonstrated increased risk of pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) with ATRA therapy (3,4), but there are limited data assessing the risk of PTC with ATRA/ATO therapy. A previous case series of 10 patients treated with ATRA/ATO demonstrated an incidence of 50% (5), suggesting a higher rate than in patients treated with ATRA alone. |
