Description |
Orbital abscess (OA) formation is a rare vision- and life-threatening complication of orbital cellulitis, characterized by mucopurulent sequestration within the orbit (1-3). Literature describing OA as a disease process distinct from orbital cellulitis and subperiosteal abscess (SPA) is limited (4,5). It remains unknown whether OA poses unique considerations for evaluation, treatment, and prognosis. The present study describes clinical features, management, and outcomes specific to patients with OA. |
