| Description |
The spectrum and prevalence of orbital magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA) and arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy are unknown. We investigated the ophthalmologic presentation, clinical exam and dedicated orbital magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of patients diagnosed with GCA. We performed a systematic review of the literature mining the PubMed and Cochrane databases from inception to January 16, 2022. Patient-level data on patients presenting with ophthalmic symptoms, imaged with brain/orbital MRI and diagnosed with biopsy-proven GCA are summarized. |
