Description Quantitative pupillometry allows for objective evaluation of the pupillary light reflex (PLR). Pupillometers in current clinical use are large table-top machines or handheld monocular devices. These devices are not amenable to rapid, bedside detection of a relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD), the most objective examination finding for optic neuropathies. We conducted a proof-of-concept study of a device called MPupil that is portable, binocular, and allows easy, objective evaluation of the pupillary response.
