Description Direct carotid-cavernous fistulas (CCFs) are commonly associated with trauma and develop quickly, although there are rare cases presenting after 6-8 weeks. Indirect CCFs are commonly spontaneous and may occur in the setting of connective tissue diseases such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is another connective tissue disease characterized by abnormal Type I collagen synthesis. There are fewer reported cerebrovascular complications, but there are two reports of indirect CCF formation in OI. This case describes a delayed direct CCF presenting four years after trauma in a patient with OI.
