Description Melkersson-Rosenthal Syndrome (MRS) is a rare neuro-mucocutaneous disorder with unknown aetiology. It is classically characterised by a triad of signs: recurrent episodes of facial palsy, orofacial oedema and a fissured tongue, although it is uncommon for all symptoms to be present simultaneously. MRS is under-diagnosed due to the rarity of the disease and the inconsistent presentation of symptoms. Subsequently much about the disease, including its progression and treatment outcomes, is unknown.
