Description Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a systemic vasculitis that, if left untreated, could be vision- and life-threatening. Prompt diagnosis and treatment with high-dose corticosteroids are crucial in preserving vision and preventing lifethreatening complications. The current diagnostic gold standard requires superficial temporal artery biopsy, which can delay diagnosis and management (1). Prior published literature reported non-specific magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) changes in GCA (2) or required specific high resolution sequence (3). Here we present the results of an effort to better characterize MRI findings in GCA patients.
