Neuro-Ophthalmology: A Field Underrepresented Among Osteopathic Medical Schools

In the United States, two medical education systems exist for the training of physicians. The two pathways include allopathic and osteopathic medical education. Allopathic medical schools are often affiliated with academic medical centers. Osteopathic medical schools are more likely to offer clinical rotation sites at community hospitals. As a result, osteopathic medical students may lack exposure to the field of Neuro-Ophthalmology in comparison to their allopathic colleagues.
