Around 1929 Charles Anderson bought out his partner, Fred Carlson, in the Murray Feed Store. Pictured from left to right: Charles Anderson, unidentified man, Clifford Anderson (oldest son of Charles), and partner, Fred Carlson. Charles kept the feed store until his retirement. He was very active in Murray Civic groups belonging to the Lions Club, Greater League of Murray, I.O.O.F. and Eagles lodges. Besides his oldest son, Charles also employed his son-in-law, Alvin (Slim) Nelson, both men being volunteer firemen. Charles was mayor from 1920 to 1923. |
