Description |
James Turner came from Kent, England in 1854 at the age of 13. Some years later he built this home on top of a hill above 700 West for his wife, Ann Margetts Turner, and a family of 13 children. The Turner family was very close and many of the descendants still live in nearby homes. A son, Hyrum, lived in the home after James died in 1926. It was later purchased by a great grandson who extensively remodeled the home in 1988 but some of the woodwork and outside decorations still remain. |
