Subject |
Murray Historic Registry |
Description |
Heber Smith acquired this property from The Progress Company in 1910 and it can be presumed that he built this house soon after marrying Fern Lowry in 1913. He was office manager of the Miller-Cahoon Company until it went out of business in 1924. Soon after he started the Smith Hardware Company located on the southwest corner of 4800 South State Street in Murray. The Smiths retained title to the house until Fern transferred it to their son, James Lowry Smith, in 1973. He lived in this house until 1997. |
