Abstract The subject of my paper is a body of work representing my personal; interpretations, experiences, memories, and processes of creating images using the; mediums of printmaking, painting and drawing. The subject matter represents broad; visual sketches of the landscape, not direct visual copies; but instead the landscape; used as a conduit to create pieces influenced by subliminal inspiration, and the internal; emotions of life experiences. The process was an important element contributing to the; overall outcome of the work. The Intaglio process allowed for working and reworking; the subject matter, and also for the pieces to be ever changing just as the landscape and; emotions constantly change. Additionally, some printmaking processes involved; quickness in rendering the subject, which, in this work, relied heavily on my memory; and experience of the place at the time. The paintings followed the same creation; process of the Intaglio prints in that they were re-worked in a process using speed,; reliance on memory, and direct representation by revisiting the subject matter through; physical interaction.; Experiences, emotional effects, and the solitary feeling that my landscapes; define, developed and evolved during my years of studio study. This development; allowed me to narrow and refine a process through selective influences found within; the landscape. I brought this thought process into the studio and produced finished; works reflecting my final interpretations of these places.
