Description |
Amblyopia has long been defined as visual impairment without an 'organic' cause, referring to anatomic and/or structural pathology. There is a growing body of evidence, enabled by technological and scientific advancement, that structural correlates to amblyopia exist from the retina to high-order visual brain regions. I will review foundational and recent findings across basic and translational sciences and along the canonical visual pathway from the retina to the visual cortex. |
