Turner editorial/ living your vision I t takes a special kind of person to buckle up their vision and live it. The vision is that thing that drives you, that thing you see and know that without a shadow of a doubt, it is yours. It’s that thing you could wake up daily to do, for free! It is that innate GOD thing that no matter who the naysayers or haters are, you are going after it with all costs! Walking out the vision for IMPACT Magazine was an amazing ordeal because I was already doing what I was born to do, at the church I was attending. At the church, I was in charge of the marketing and public relations. On a whim, I began to create the newsletter entitled, The Oracle. My job was to establish the content, produce the graphics, and get the word out on what was happening in the church. The newsletter always had great reviews from everyone! While working in my gift, a question formed in my being; it was, how would a person who would never step into a church, receive this message? From there, I got the vision to begin this magazine, but with a great vision comes walking out a great plan. How would I begin? Visions of that good thing running through your mind on the constant, but…how do you actually live the vision? How do you begin to walk the vision for it to become plain? In this issue of IMPACT Magazine we speak with some visionaries who are doing the work! Our cover feature story is none other than Chrisette Michele! I sat down at the swanky Twelve Hotel in Atlanta and spoke with Chrisette over some great drinks! Speaking about what it took for her to be steady in the music industry for ten years! Malik Yoba speaks on how his love for acting and activism began. In addition, you will get to know the true hustlers of WEtv, Dedra Allen of Cutting It In The ATL and Sarah Lowe of Selling It In The ATL. Seeing the need of uniting women, April Daniels of the Tamar & Vince show, began her “Rock Out With Me” campaign. Frame by frame, Stacy Muhammad is a true visionary behind the lens. Charles Dutton compare her works to film greats as ‘The Wire’ and ‘The Corner’. Through these pages, you will discover, be inspired, be encouraged, and engaged on how to live your vision. Be sure to be encouraged in what your vision is and find the value in it. Once you find the value, you will then be ready to live and walk it out. Remember to always be an IMPACT! Her series, For Colored Boys is a marvel of cinematic craft and superb storytelling. The series reminds you of the high quality HBO shows The Corner and The Wire. Stacey Muhammad is that good of a director.” - Charles S. Dutton I was interviewed today for a piece about Hollywood, diversity, inclusion, and I’m hoping they print EXACTLY what I said… exactly how I said it. I haven’t thought much about this issue beyond the OBVIOUS, which is that trauma is certainly passed on from one generation to the next. But, as I’m presented with more “opportunities” as an artist, I’m often asked about the challenges I face as a black woman filmmaker and I’ve been asked repeatedly about this diversity (or lack thereof ) issue. It’s clear to me that one’s position on the subject has much to do with how they arrive at their “career” as a filmmaker and how they were politically oriented prior to becoming an artist. It essentially boils down to why one is doing the work they do. The conversation (diversity and INCLUSION) is no different (to me) than the conversations around police terrorism against Black people or the genocide taking place in Flint, MI. With that said, there isn’t a joke or a punch line that’s appropriate when addressing the issue because what we’re talking about here is how people’s lives and dreams are LITTERALLY railroaded and cut short because of someone’s fear, psychosis, and greed. The ONLY thing we’re talking about here is racism and white supremacy and THAT’S IT! The fact that folks in film and television have money and fame (yet no 6 @impactmagazine power) doesn’t change the fact that we’re still talking about what rich white folk in positions of power and privilege won’t LET them (us) do. I had lunch with one of my mentors in film and he always reminds me that these are the conversations, considerations, and issues that he and his comrades were having back in the day. Mind you, he’s been in this industry for OVER 40 years…OVER! To put it LIGHTLY, we’re in a racially HOSTILE environment. We don’t know another America. We don’t know another America outside of racial hostility and violence toward Black and nonwhite people. The only time we’ve experienced such bliss in America has been when we built and sustained independent communities (infrastructure), until they came and burned them to the ground! So, what AMERICA does this lack of diversity and inclusion contradict? What year are we talking? During a time when it’s easier and more affordable to make movies than ever before…when we have more distribution avenues and opportunities available to us than ever before…when we have direct, immediate access to audiences like never before…when we have more resources available to us like never before…when we LITERALLY have technology at our fingertips…the fact that we’re still talking about doors not being open and opportunities not being “given” is EXTREMELY telling and disheartening at best. Building INFRASTRUCTURES would ENSURE the Black filmmakers and artist aren’t having these conversations about diversity and inclusion years from now, if not sooner. But nope…as my mentor said today, we love white folk. We need them to validate us as we believe their ice is colder. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the past few years thinking about what I want, as a filmmaker, as a storyteller, in an industry where people covet things that don’t matter much to me at all. I do know that I NEVER want to be so famous or so rich that I forget exactly what AMERICA has ALWAYS been and that it’s my DUTY to every ancestor, every Black man, woman, and child whose life has been taken, dream deferred, and voice silenced, to TELL THE TRUTH! America as we know it has ALWAYS been a cesspool of corruption, death, and greed. In fact, the only hope it has (after it implodes) is Black and oppressed people, but we can’t build if we’re still begging for poisoned crumbs falling from their table. I certainly applaud, support (and benefit from) some of the organizations, funds, etc. that are addressing the lack of diverse voices. However, they are usually initiated by those whose voices are unheard and stories rarely told. Those initiatives are examples of building infrastructure and creating opportunity and should be where our support and attention is focused. Although I know WHY I’m doing this, I’m still trying to figure out how to do it. But, I do know how I WON’T be doing it! Stacey Muhammad / @staceymuhammad #impactmagazine 7 v TO GIVE IS TO RECEIVE DEVIN AND TRISTAN GIVE BACK FOUNDER MARJORIET MATUTE BRINGS AWARENESS TO MUSIC, ART, CELEBRITY, CULTURE AND PHILANTHROPY M atute is a true survivor. Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma her junior year of high school at the fragile age of 17, she underwent an extensive amount of chemotherapy and radiation over the course of a year. Thrown into a lifestyle of questionable uncertainties, Marjoriet found a silent strength within her to fight and persevere through her body’s battle with the deadly diagnosis. She finished treatment in July 2000 and went on to complete her senior year of high school as a completely transformed person. 8 @impactmagazine During her stay in the hospital, Matute experienced life on the other side and witnessed children endure and agonized parents suffer for their children. With hospital bills and medical treatment costs piling up, Marjoriet’s parents were confronted with a great deal of financial and emotional battles. But with the help of volunteers and hospital staff, they were somehow always able to make ends meet. Gratitude for their support and love cannot be measured, but by sharing her story with families in the same situation today and keeping her promise to give back, Marjoriet has initiated a movement: Devin and Tristan Give Back. Marjorie Matute/ v giving back and the tremendous difference it makes. Marjoriet has sought out and landed partnerships with Tomorrow’s Children Institute in Hackensack University Medical Center, Hawaiian Airlines, Proud To Be Latina, and Smile Design Gallery. After chemo and radiation, Marjoriet was met with the devastating news from doctors that she would not be able to conceive. Medically speaking this might have been true, but life had a bigger plan for her. In 2009, just 10 years after her life-threatening diagnosis, Matute and the love of her life were blessed with their first son Devin, and shortly after, their second son Tristan was born in 2011. Both beautiful baby boys are her miracles and serve as reminders everyday to never lose hope. In September 2012, she launched Devin and Tristan Give Back, raising awareness, toys and anything else that is needed. DTGB organizes numerous fundraisers, events and focus groups throughout the year like the Crayola Sensation Donation, Hurricane Sandy Teddy Bear and Balls, and Twilight Family Fun Night to name a few. DTGB has created an outlet where people can come together, share information and learn about paramount topics in society. They inspire people to give back in various ways to causes and organizations throughout the year that need their help and support. More importantly, the foundation serves as a teaching tool for her young boys to teach them the value of In February, Marjoriet once again leaped out of the typical mommy box and began writing for the Huffington Post as a contributor and CNN. She also serves as Editor in Chief of the highly anticipated father inspired magazine, Dapper Dads Magazine. In just over a year, the stunning Latina has written features with famed artist Angelo Romano, two-time EMMY Award winner Damien Escobar, upand-coming artist Robert Peterson, ANTM’s Nigel Barker, comedian Wil Silvynce and rapper Somaya Reece. Her article “Latinas Unite Por Fin” was highlighted and eagerly accepted by Latina Magazine, LATISM, Red Shoe Movement, Ella Leadership, Proud to Be Latina, LaFemme Latina and more. There is never a dull moment for this mom but with her passion to GIVE BACK she finds time, energy and resources to make DTGB the success it has been thus far and is positive that its success will be highly influential. “I believe in miracles. I am a miracle, my boys are miracles, and it’s a miracle that in less than a year we have been able to accomplish so much by giving back through DTGB,” Marjoriet says. “Never give up, always persevere, and your dreams will flourish too!” For more information and to stay up to date with Marjoriet and Devin and Tristan Give Back, please log on to www.devintristangiveback.com #impactmagazine 9 www.ivyleaftravel.com #impactmagazine 11 Chrisette Michele Creating A Milestone I met Chrisette briefly at her Pose N’ Post Symposium event held in Atlanta. The atmosphere was serene and it was a social media networking event with conversations on creative branding and social media growth. Being able to sit with her to ask her questions on the event was truly amazing. The time I spent one-on-one with her made me eager to learn more about this creative thinker. 12 @impactmagazine #impactmagazine 13 Chrisette Michele/ I want to uplift communities and create a new soundtrack for our lifestyles. Coming a long way from being a Girl Scout, this jazz aficionado learned how to make ADD work in her favor. Learning that if she focused more on school and less on boys, things will work more in her favor. Going straight from high school to Def Jam, your first hearing of Chrisette was on Nas’ “Can’t Forget About You”. Chrisette says she fought being signed, but once she sat and played the piano, they were convinced there was a space for her. “It wasn’t until I started singing hip hop hooks that I felt like I fit in. I’ll always be a singer songwriter with a coy, rebellious indie spirit at my core.” Never desiring to be labeled in music, Chrisette says, “What I learned over the years is how to be a black girl who is more than just an urban dollar at a record label. Instead I’m learning to paint a universal color with my music.” Her commitment to herself is to always tell the truth, only post what she believes, and never coward down to the status quo out of fear, money, or obligation; now that’s a true BOSS! Even though she has five albums out, her fifth entitled Milestone, worked with some of the best in the business, and won a Grammy, Chrisette’s focus is on being rich in heart and art. A lover of a good Cabernet Sauvignon, I met Chrisette at the swanky Twelve Hotel at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, with one in hand! A promoter of positive connections, she and her team greeted me with nothing but love and laughter! Eager and ready to speak about her latest journey, she is glowing and the professed flower child is flowing through. As I was introduced to her crew, I met her fiancé’ Doug “Biggs” Ellison who had proposed just weeks before this interview. So, I understood the glow… “I’m so happy to share that I’ve received what I’ve been praying for. I’m over the moon.” She posted on her Instagram page. She says this moment shows that true love lasts through the ups and downs of life. Chrisette is no stranger to singing about love and relationships, her new single ‘Steady’ off the Milestone album took me by surprise! The track is produced by Blickie Blaze of Four Kings Productions, 14 @impactmagazine and it’s a head banger. The song makes you want to get in a space and turn the music up extremely loud and rock to it! As Chrisette explains, people call it trap soul, and from this single she is the reigning queen! The song speaks on her being in the game ten years strong and letting people know about where she is in life. Returning to her hip hop roots, Chrisette says owning her own label company, Rich Hipster, allows her the freedom to put out songs like ‘Steady’ because she misses the sound she created in the early years. Being in the business of creating art from an authentic space has brought on plenty of life lessons. Learning how to say no, take chances, and putting herself out there were great teachings. Staying in constant prayer and meditation keeps her grounded and focused. In 2016, there is acting, pop-up shops, tours, the wedding!!! So much in store for Chrisette…. “Because really I want to uplift communities and create a new soundtrack for our lifestyles. So you and I can build pockets of brand new nations built on the act of giving, peace, and unity all over the world.” Now that’s creating a milestone… @chrisettemichele Chrisette’s New Album is availble 6/10/2016 #impactmagazine 15 malik yoba/ Abdul-Malik Kashie Yoba, better known to us as Malik Yoba, is the consummate giver. The fourth of six children, he is an authentic, no nonsense type of guy. Born in the Bronx, to Mahmoudah Young (née Lanier) and Abdullah Yoba, Malik has led a complimentary life full of service. With his life almost taken from him at the tender age of 15, Malik was shot in the neck in the heart of Manhattan at the corner of 50th between 8th and 9th Avenue. An injury that could have had permanent damage, he escaped the perils the gun shot could have had for him. Malik says, “When I had gotten shot, I wanted to go to the Performance Arts High School, but my father didn’t let me go. I ended up going to a school in Midtown Manhattan. And when I got shot I told him, if I had been in the theatre program, I wouldn’t have gotten shot!” Malik says this experience got him on track and he was clear on what he was supposed to do; he knew he was going to pursue acting and be a force of good in the world! From that moment on, he knew his life mission was to be of service. It was one of those moments in life where you just shut down and can’t believe that this happened. Everything just stopped and came full circle. 16 @impactmagazine With a clear understanding of being a “misunderstood child”, Malik identifies with troubled inner-city youth, and regarded many as the victims of widely held racial and social misperceptions. His love of service began as a teenager when he joined the CityKids Foundation. CityKids Foundation is a non-profit, multicultural youth organization located in New York City. By the time he was in his twenties, Malik had dedicated himself to counseling, teaching music, and acting to children of all ages. You name it, he has volunteered there; from the school house, the homeless shelter, to the penitentiary! “This is the thing that sustains me. I have always been naturally inclined to help people,” says Malik. Giving the credit to his father for providing him the greatest example of being a natural giver, Malik says his father was always looking out for people in the neighborhood and being sure they were politically correct by taking them to see documentaries and writing reports on them. “One of the things that I enjoy about my life is sometimes you can just walk into a space and change someone’s entire day! One of my favorite moments in life was when I was in Houston, Texas. It was 98 degrees, with 98 percent humidity. I’m driving in a car and pulled up to a red light to see this dude looking like Quest Love. He had a big afro, driving a rusted out hooptie, had the windows open, looked like he was just hating life. It was hot, he’s driving a fucked up car, and when I pulled up to the light, he turns around and sees me. With no words exchanged…this is a dude who we are probably the same age or maybe a little bit younger; his whole demeanor changed. He was so happy to see me. That to me is probably one of the most satisfying results of what I do. As a public person, because of my work, the effect that it has on black men brings me great satisfaction.” The roles that he played started out with Cool Runnings, then on to the quintessential ground breaking FOX television show, New York Undercover in which in 1996, 1997 and 1998 he won the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his performance. “The roles that I have played, in particularly New York Undercover, shows a young father taking care of a young male child, changed people lives. I’ve had men come to me to say they have become a better father or became a cop! That to me is worth the work.”Also in 1997, Malik published his autobiography, ‘Yoba: Lessons From the Street and Other Places’. In 2001, he starred in the stage musical, What we are doing with Iconic 32 is telling our story, telling in a way that matters to us. #impactmagazine 17 Everything just stopped and came full circle. This reminded me of why I am here. ‘What’s on the Hearts of Men’, co-written with his brother A. Rahman Yoba and he founded the ‘Malik Yoba National Theatre Company’ in 2003, which produces works for the urban theater market. In 2015, Malik was back on FOX Network as a cast member of the record breaking set of ‘Empire’. Playing the confident role of Vernon, Lucious Lyon’s right hand man was a bit different for Malik to play, but he played it oh so well! Even though the character was killed in the first season, Malik serviced the personality in a major way. One of the most important works for Malik right now is making sure his new company, Iconic 32, become a staple in the community. Iconic 32 is a lifestyle company and innovation studio that drives cultural movements for social good via pop culture. “What we are doing with Iconic 32 is telling our story; telling in a way that matters to us.” What matters to Malik Yoba right now is exploring opportunities on 18 @impactmagazine how Iconic 32 can help with resources, creativity, innovation, and to create sustainable opportunities in communities as such as Ferguson. “We desire to bring help in ways that are cool. How do we use technology? How do we use pop culture? How do we use music? How do we use the arts and entertainment in the spirit of the entrepreneur? How do you plant those seeds and give instructions? To connect dots and not as if we are coming in like some non-profit looking for grants from the government to feed the hungry poor black people! But how do you infuse, not just ideas, but create a framework so it can sustain itself?” No matter what you do in life, if it is filled with giving of self, that brings a fulfilling existence. Malik Yoba’s life is an example of this. Malik said he was coming from the Wendy Williams show and was riding with a friend passed the spot in Manhattan on 50th and 9th where he was shot as a teenager. “I was in the car with a friend of mine. Telling him about the story of how I got shot right on this block that we were about to approach. Right as we hit 50th Street and 9th Avenue, there’s a poster of me promoting the series ’Alphas’ that I was on. Right on that corner was a image of me. It was one of those moments in life where you just shut down and can’t believe that this happened. Everything just stopped and came full circle. This reminded me of why I am here.” Follow Malik Yoba on Instagram and Twitter @MalikYoba #impactmagazine 19 20 @impactmagazine Flawless Fresh Face/ Jearlean Taylor Follow Jearlean @jearleantaylor Secrets Hurt: I am no longer Hiding mine. I beat cancer! I I am Jearlean Taylor. At the age of 2 1/2 years old, I developed a rare form of cancer (Rhabdomysarcoma). Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a cancer made up of cells that normally develop into skeletal muscles. It is much more common in children. Common sites of RMS include head and neck, urinary and reproductive organs. Doctors thought I would not live to celebrate my 3rd birthday. Because of the location of cancer since the age of 3 years old, I have permanent ostomy (colostomy and urostomy), which aids my bladder and bowel functions. It causes me to wear ostomy bags for the rest of my life. An ostomy refers to the surgically created opening in the body for the discharge of body wastes. Ostomy bag (pouch) attaches to the abdomen and is fitted over and around the stoma to collect the diverted output, either stool or urine. No one could imagine my difficulties, low self-esteem, disappointments, in- securities, countless surgeries, and my problem with loving me. My heart’s desire has always been to make a difference in people lives, but there was something internally that was unstable in my life. My mind, body, and soul longed for answers. The outer appearance is beauty, but I was suffering on the inside with low self-esteem, pity, and unhappiness. Could my beauty cover up my hurt? I would say my problem was cancer, but my disease was what I called “Pretty Girl Blues”. Through my journey, I discovered who I could be in spite of my medical circumstances. My insecurities did not change overnight, but God showed me how to live and be a survivor. I am blessed to have my desires, passions, and dreams come true. I have been a fashion model for over 17 years, yes with two ostomy bags. To see the outer appearance no one could ever tell I live with these adversities. My story continued with struggles, insecurities, heartaches, pain, suicidal thoughts, and disappointments, but through it all God is my saving grace. I would not allow my circumstance to dictate my future. I am helping cancer survivors, ostomy patients, young women mentor groups, and those suffering with low self-esteem. I do not look like what I deal with 24 hours/7 days a week. I can, will, and is living a full and vibrant life. I am founder of Osto Beauties (only organization like this in our city, state and maybe country). We have all experienced different life altering medical conditions, which caused us to be PERMANENTLY left with ostomies. Each of us is still dealing with various issues now. Every single day we are reminded of a condition that is out of our control. Yes, we question why me? How could this happen? Then God ask, “Why not you?” We are making a difference through our stories of victory. #impactmagazine 21 SPIRIT OF THE HUSTLE Dedra Allen Living by the motto, “If you have the passion for what you do, the money is just extra, but the experience is EVERYTHING.” 22 www.magazineonline.com Dedra Allen/ Star of WEtv Cutting In The ATL D edra Allen is a Leading Industry Expert and Visionary - specializing in the fields of Hair care and Salon Services. You did it! Most scholars can reasonably expect to graduate with thousands in student debt. If you’ve had trouble managing your debt as a result of poor choices made during your college years you’re not alone. Whether you’re struggling to pay back your student loan debt or looking for a way to repair damaged credit, these five simple steps will point you in the right direction. 1 2 Don’t Ignore Your Debt! Obtain your credit report. “Out of sight…Out of mind” are not words to live by when it comes to debt. Ignoring your debt will not make it go away. In fact, neglecting to address your financial and credit issues only exacerbates the problem. A better approach is to simply list all of your debts so that you have a clear and realistic picture of your financial situation. Next, determine how much you can afford to repay each month until you have paid off all that you owe. By developing a repayment strategy you put yourself in control. Stick to your plan and pay your bills on time! Late payments are harmful to your credit. In order to repair your credit, you must know exactly what is in need of repair. The best way to find out is to request a copy of your credit report directly from the credit bureau. According to the FACT Act, all U.S. citizens are entitled to one free copy of their credit report each year. This report will list your debts and payment history. This one simple step is the perfect place to start to repair some of the damage done during those young, wild, and free college years. There are three major credit reporting agencies that can provide your free annual credit report; TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. Take the time to carefully review your credit report. Look for information that may be inaccurate or flat-out false. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, LuxuriousCREDIT.com can help simplify the process. You have the right to challenge and request to have any erroneous or unverifiable information removed. This may seem intimidating initially, but you CAN do it! 38 @impactmagazine 3 Student Loans Most student loan debt consists of Stafford loans, Perkins loans, and PLUS loans. These loans are guaranteed by the federal government which, basically, means that if you default on your loan the government promises to pick up the tab. That does NOT mean, however, that your credit won’t be harmed. There are two ways to obtain these federally secured loans, either directly from the Department of Education through the Federal Direct Loan Program or through a private lender, typically a bank. Many private lenders sell off their loans to other companies. This is known as the secondary market. One of the most notorious lenders in the secondary market is Sallie Mae, who you are likely familiar with. Tackling student loan debt is a big task no matter how you look at it. You’ve made your first large financial investment, in yourself! Like any investment, it will take time to begin to see the returns. While you wait, there are some simple things you can do to minimize the accrual of interest during repayment, simplify your payment method, and relieve the stress if you just can’t afford to pay now. Many lenders offer rewards for consecutive on-time payment of student loans. These rewards usually translate into a decrease in interest rates of up to 2%, which can save you hundreds of dollars over the term of repayment. Similar rewards often also apply when you sign up for automatic payment. Take advantage of these freebies. Next, if you have borrowed more than one single loan, it can get tricky keeping up with who gets what during repayment. Loan consolidation is one way to put all your loans under one roof, so to speak. Consolidation reduces your paperwork and allows you to combine all of your Luxurious Credit/ major federal loans into one massive loan, but, this service is not free. Your new servicer agrees to pay off all your old loans and issues you a new one with a fixed interest rate equal to the average of the rates on your old loans. Furthermore, this should really only be done through one of your loan servicers directly. The major benefit to you is that it helps you stay on track by simplifying the entire repayment process. Loan serialization, is a way to receive just one bill for all loans held by the same lender. The benefits are very similar to that of consolidation without requiring you to refinance. Special repayment options such as extended, graduated, or income-sensitive repayment take your financial situation into consideration to make your monthly payments feasible for your income and debt load. Finally, special breaks such as deferment and forbearance make special concessions for individuals who simply cannot afford to pay now. Contact your lender to discuss which of the above options will work best for you. A Word of Caution for Students: If you happen to be reading this article while you’re still a student, be intentional about your borrowing! Calculate what you will need to cover tuition, books, and cost of living expenses and consider alternatives prior to securing new loans. Over-borrowing may seem like an attractive option now but remember that it is a LOAN that YOU must repay in the future. 4 Credit Cards The stereotypical starving college student barely has money for food, let alone the means to keep up with the latest fashion, tech, and pop-culture trends. Some do without. Others just “gotta have it”! A department store card here, a credit card there and before you know it, you’re up to your neck in credit card debt. A smart move, if you have both credit card and student loan debt, is to go after the credit card debt first. The interest rate on your credit cards is likely much higher than the rates on your student loans. If this is true for you, tackle the credit card debt, and protect your credit from the nasty effects of high balances and missed or late payments by paying off the most expensive cards first. What this means is, work to pay off the balance on the cards with the highest interest rates first while maintaining the minimum monthly payments on the others. Then tackle the next highest interest rate, and so on until your credit card debt is wiped out! It’s that simple. 5 Develop a Budget The fact is that many people face financial hardship and even crisis at some point. Your situation doesn’t have to go from bad to worse. Take control of your finances by getting real with yourself about your spending. Make a true assessment of how much money you have coming in and going out every month. List your income from all sources. List your “fixed” expenses such as rent or mortgage, food, transportation. List your variable expenses such as clothing, entertainment, and recreation. A great tool to help with this is www.mint.com. Use it to analyze your spending habits, prioritize your spending, and create some financial goals. Once you determine your priorities, be disciplined so that your spending reflects what you truly value. #impactmagazine 39 Cocktails & Conversation Ming Lee 40 @impactmagazine COCKTAILS & CONVERSATIONS Self Made Millionaire Ming Lee Speaks At IMPACT’s Cocktails & Conversations M ost entrepreneurs, when they start their businesses, dream of becoming millionaires and be wealthy for life. So, if you can’t get any higher than 100% leather and they are both selling bags, what are you going off of when you are buying the bag?” IMPACT Magazine’s Editor-In Chief, Tunisha Brown says, “It was vital to bring Ming to Trenton.
