| Description | Ever since the method s of relativistic quantum field theory· have been applied to the weak interaction, the higher order corrections tb the scattering matrix have been plagued with diver-genes which cannot be resolved by the methods of quantum Electrodynamics, namely, mass and coupling constant renormalization. The origin of these divergences in the intermediate vector 80son theory and the attempts made to understand the theory in spite of these divergences are discussed in the next section. |
