Use continuation sheets as necessary. This house is a great example of post WWII era architecture. It has the boxy non-descript shape of a home built economically and quickly. There was a housing shortage in Ogden at this time, so it makes sense. Architect/Builder: Ashton Fire Brick &Tile Co. Explain andjustifY any significant themes marked above. Use continuation sheets as necessary. This is an interesting house. It has a crazy history, or at least the property it's on does. The piece ofland was bought by Ashton Fire Brick & Tile Co. in 1921. They took out a mortgage in 1922, but seemed to run into trouble. In 1939, a company called Weber Fire Brick & Tile Co. gets it by Sheriff's Deed. Ashton's must have run into trouble during the depression. Anyway, it isn't listed in the City Directories until 1948, when John Powell, a city policeman, bought the home. He and his wife Anna only lived there for four years before selling it to Willy Hansen and his wife Ona. Willy was a mechanic for UGD. They lived there for nine years before selling the home in 1961 to Joseph Costello and his wife Leona. He worked in the Transfer Shop ofUGD. They stayed there for quite a few years.
