This one-part commercial block consists of three equal bays, the central and northern bays of which are built over basements. The north wall of the structure is common with the original Post Office building which preceeded this building by about five years. The openings on the main facade have been changed over the years and a series of windows on the rear facade have been bricked shut. 5. Architect/Builder: Unknown Date of Construction: Ca. 1920 Write a chronological history of the property, focusing primarily on the original or principal owners & significant events. This structure was built under the ownership of Johnathan Holbrook who purchased this property in 1920. The post office building also on this property was already in place at the time of acquisition. Early photographs & Sanborn maps indicate that the south bay was first occupied by an undertaker and the central and northern bays first occupied by Joe Knighton's bakery and grocery store. Since that time the building has housed a series of retail shops including a Ben Franklin Store, Emelees - a ladies apparel shop, style salons, Caseys Cash Store, and many others.
