Fellow Retreat: Cooking and Karaoke

Within the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, the fellows rarely work together and are often on opposite schedules making bonding and getting to know each other difficult. We created the goal, with financial support from the GME Wellness Initiative matching grant and the Division of PEM, to host 2-3 fellow retreats per year. We coordinated shift swaps with our Nurse Practitioners to allow all 8 fellows to have a day off together. We brainstormed with the Fellows to see what activities would be beneficial and could be supported with the grant money. While we are working on final details of the second retreat, we successfully held the first Fellow Retreat November 16th, 2022 that included a debrief with the resiliency center representative, lunch, a hike, and a group dinner/karaoke session.
