After Peter made his confession that Christ, the Son of the Living God, Jesus responded, "Upon this rock I will build my church." (Matthew 16: 13-16) This was His promise that His Jesus was the church would be built but the time not was yet right. Then, after the resurrection, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended to take Jesus' place and He filled the "Then disciples. No wonder the church grew by leaps and bounds. He was no respecter of person.
