Jesus said the holy place would be in abomination, the great tribulation would come, world powers will smite the gentiles without notice, the glorious appearing of the Lord will be to all nations, Israel will re-gather, fig tree, sign people will be warned of the coming events. Still the end although it is soon coming, will not be known. For "that day and hour knoweth no man, no not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." It will be like the day of Noah. Noah warned the people for 120 years to get ready. He built an ark for their protection. He called them to repent. Yet they went about eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage as if nothing new was happening. In other words, they went about their business as usual. They did the things that were comfortable and that they had always been doing. They ignored the signs of the times and the warnings of the preacher. It was not until the water began to fall and the flood rose that they realized their situation. In fact they looked around and realized that strange things were happening.
