Show THE ONE WHOM GOD CAN USE Luke 1: 20, 31, 3 8 a When God made us, He made us with natural desire to serve. We are care givers extraordinary. and animals, and those who are for crops another. Even We one care t"lazy" have eiiH a desire to be useful. While children may not want to do what you want them to you give them a chance they will volunteer to do something helpful. Somebody far wiser than I said do, if that'if f:elr..:PI::.t you want to endear others to you, do not Jr:t; try to do it by doing them a favor, but by asking them to do a favor for you. There is something about those who believe in God and a called by His name. They want to serve, to render service to others 1 as well we are God gave to us and blessed more by giving back. as to God. I want to who those God will use are use three verses that God will those who AVAILABLE. It took to illustrate use. First, are me a long time to understand what Rev. Gates meant when he would said, "God is not concerned about your ability but your availability." Are you available for God to use you? Zacharias went in the temple to meet God but did not believe the announcement made by the angel Gabriel. So Gabriel said, "Behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be (Luke 1: 20) God simply fulfilled in their season." We are not available to 2 because we exist or because we are here physically in the room. W e make ourselves available by believing and trusting in His Word. When Mary showed up at Elizabeth's house, Elizabeth said, "Oh, how happy is the woman who believes in God, for He does make His promises to her come true." (Luke 1 :45 Phillips) God will use those greatly who are available to Him with great belief, great hope, and great vision. Furthermore, God can use those one who is LISTENING to Him. The angel said to Mary, "And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his (Luke name JESUS." 31) Mary responded, "1 am the Lord's servant. May your word be fulfilled." (Luke 1: 38) Paul raised the 1: 3 question, "How then shall they call on they have not believed? And How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10: 14) Mary could have him in whom offered excuses. virgin. I someone am I'm too young. I not married. Please else. am a use Instead, Mary listened to God's word and followed His command. She did what He told her to do. Thirdly, God can use those who SUBMISSIVE Him and His will. are Mary dropped everything and followed the orders of God. "And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to they word." (Luke 1: 38) She was willing to submit and do what the Lord said do. She did not allow the 4 world to dictate her behavior. She did not choose the convenient way. Although she may not have understood all of what God was doing she made herself available, listened to His and submitted to His will. God can use whoever is there for Him. He used Moses couldn't talk although he right. was a He used Daniel foreign land. word, although he He used David lad of a shepherd boy. although he was He used Jonah in in a spite of His hard-headedness. He used Peter in spite of his waving. He used Paul although he had been on the devil' s payroll. 5 |
