Show BE TRUE TO YOUR WORD "But let your communication be yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." 33-37 (Matthew Read Matthew 5: 5: 3 7) Sundays, we have been Over the last several studying various Old Testament covenants in our Sunday School lessons. We have know that every covenant is between at least two parties. We have discovered that God offers us a relationship and guarantees His part forever. The only question about whether the covenant will be fulfilled or not is whether the people will be true to their word or not. growing up almost none of the people in our community did their business with formal contracts or by signing their signatures. They could go into a place of business and pick When I up seed or was food or clothes or fertilizer or almost anything they wanted without having to sign their lives away. People so seldom move out of the area, they were know by the reputation of their name. Furthermore, people were not so quick to file lawsuits against one another for small infractions. Our society has become too litigious and adversarial. Thus, they trusted one and another and made deals for hundreds and nothing more than just and a promise. They were true to thousands of dollars with a hand shake their word. In this the mount, Jesus is His disciples about appropriate sermon on instructing kingdom behavior.
