Then he beyond human writes our text for today about four things that bring trouble to the whole world. These intolerable things are troublesome to people: 1. A servant with power. 2. A fool with riches. 3. An ill-natured woman with a husband. 4. An old maiJ who inherits what her mistress left. I don't want to talk about all of these. All I want to do in conjunction with our theme IITwo Shall Be One", I want to talk about "An Odious Woman Who Got Married." Let me start with a little homework and definitions. "Odious" refers to with a one bad temper, with bad ways, ill natured, cross-grained, objectionable, that nobody wants to be with, repugnant, contradictory, inconsistent, distasteful, hostile. It speaks of that disgusting, repulsive, detestable, offensive, loathsome, and which is even hateful. It is the which brings pleasure opposite of that or delight. The text says that the earth is the odious woman disquieted by who gets married. That is to say the earth cannot stand this kind of person, there will be no peace, lack of transquility, worry will be there, uneasiness will be the rule, the place will be disturbed and alarmed. You would think the "odious woman" is not the kind of person want to marry, but anybody would somebody her and bestows upon her state. It an marries honorable maybe that the saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" from this notion. Somebody odious, unlovable woman comes marries but her bad ways make her unbearable to her husband, intolerable to her and insufferable for her an servants, neighbors. Many may think her undesirable but somebody finds her likeable and attractive. The text says all the earth is disturbed and unsettled by the odious woman when she gets married. There is contention because of her distasteful behavior. The Bible says, "A continual dropping in contentious a very rainy day and a woman are alike." {Proverbs 15} 27: Jesus came as the Prince of Peace. "Glory to God in The angelic host the hiqhest, and on earth peace, good sang, will toward men." Jesus His was {Luke 2: 13-14} When getting ready to depart from earthly life, He settled all the uneasiness and unrest within (S) . us. He . promised, "Peace peace! give I teave with you, my unto you: not as the world qiveth, give! unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. N (John 14: 27) ) |
