The Apostle Paul here called them apart from legalism and wrong. He reminded them that they were fooling themselves, that the inheritance 1 they sought was not of this world but of the Kingdom of God. He listed a number of wrongs that would hinder their acceptance into the Kingdom of God and them, "And such were some ofyou: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6: 11) God then wrote to " has washed and sanctified are set apart as Jesus had us so that we brethren! prayed for His children to be set-apart, to be consecrated, to be hallowed, to be sanctified. Listen to His request of His Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. And for their sakes, I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the .. . truth. " We are relatives set aside 2 as brethren. As believers in Jesus Christ who strive to live are according to His word, different. We unique. We are the world. We are set apart. We distinct. We are are we are not like in this world but not pilgrims and strangers traveling through this world of time to eternity. In fact, we are not of this world. We are students of the world but world students. We are are our not followers of the world but the world follows us. We do pattern ourselves after the world but the world patterns itself after us. We are not to set the pace and be trying to examples for those find their way. Those who are lost and unbelievers look to believers to be saved. We are set-apart because consecrated, blessed, hallowed, are 3 we purified, sanctified. sanctified who are. are We Those not to be sanctified are set apart as by those brethren! On the Australian coat of arms, there are two animals pictured. There is a fly called the the running Kangaroo large bird that does Emu and there is not everybody expects. These two animals are not chosen by happenstance that but because of one common characteristic that appears to the Australians. They both cannot, no matter how hard They can they try, move backward. only go forward. The emu has foot of three toes that if it tries to go backward will cause it to fall. The a Kangaroo has a large tail that keeps it from backing up. Both of these animals are different from other animals. Trap a 4 chicken and it will back up out of your way. Trap a turkey or a duck or an eagle or a pig they will all back of your path. These two or a cow and up to get out Australian animals cannot back up and have to always find a way to move forward, and forward only. Those of us who are truly saved and followers of Christ must never move backward, must always move forward. "And Jesus said having put his to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. "(Luke 9: 62) Eugene Petersen in The Message put it "No procrastination. No backward looks." Looking forward, we are set apart as unto him, No man, brethren! We are set Christ. We apart are as made 5 believers in Jesus holy and acceptable by the unto Him. Some live good deeds faith. But that none works and they do but we live of those will make by us right and acceptable to God. Only the Word, only the Truth will make us wholly His. "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren For by one offering he hath perfectedfor ever them that are sanctified.
