Show OWE NO MAN/BE INDEBTED TO NO MAN "Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." (Romans 13: 8) Paul wrote this letter to the Christian believers in Rome in 57-58 A. D. while on his third visit to Corinth. He was they know and apply the principles of sound doctrine, especially concerned that the great doctrine of grace. He wanted them to know that as believers they not only had an obligation to God but for a relationship to man as well. F or all of us are guilty of wrong, must be justified by loving grace, and are kept by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. That is as 1 God's grace works out His eternal purpose and that as we received the mercies of God we must share them with love. Thus the text, "owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the IaWe " Notice first of all that we are "OWE NO MAN ANYTHING." to Be careful of your debt load. Don't be in bondage to anybody. Solomon wrote, "The rich man ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant tot he lender. " (Proverbs 22: 7) Do not make yourself dependent on the provisions of others. Do not be so needy that others have to come to your rescue. God promised to provide all of our needs just He does for the birds and the flowers. Be 2 a lender not a " borrower. Deuteronomy 18: 12 tells us to lend to many nations but borrow ... ... from none." Those who borrow are desperate for their basic needs and become subjectto those who supply them. So "Owe no man anything. " Second all man is " ... we should owe another TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER." The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor the way you love yourself. Then Jesus said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another as I have loved you, By this shall men know that you are my disciples, ifyou have love one to another. (John 13: 34-35) What God wants us to do is that you also love one another.
