Description Correspondence from 1970 to Marriner S. Eccles in his role as an elector for the Hall of Fame for Great Americans. This folder consists of letters supporting the nomination of Jefferson Davis and accompanying supporting materials. Correspondents include numerous political and military leaders, including Admiral Albert G. Noble, Senator Barry Goldwater, Kentucky Governor Louie B. Nunn, Tennessee Governor Buford Ellington, and Colonel Robert McCord. A letter dated 17 June 1970 from the United Daughters of the Confederacy was accompanied by a 40-page-long list of leaders supporting the nomination.
