Black and white photograph from Edward La Chapelle's tour of Colorado avalanche area in March of 1955. This photo shows the upper part of the Stanley Peak slide at Berthoud Pass. "A" indicates the upper fracture zone, and "B" indicates the lower fracture zone. Note the line of trees along edge of "B" which act as a snow fence to dump snow into fracture zone." |
