Description Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay (ARSACS) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder. Thickened retinal nerve fibres visible on fundoscopy have previously been described.[1] Recently the largest series have shown thickening of the retinal nerve fibre layer as observed using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and this appears to be a more sensitive and specific feature.
