Description Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS) is a rare neurologic condition where patients with visual impairment can have visual hallucinations. The criteria for CBS are that the visual hallucinations may be simple or complex, there must not be any other sensory form of the hallucination, the hallucinations are not of a paranoid nature and patients have keen insight into the false nature of these hallucinations. Patients often exhibit distress over these benign hallucinations and without proper awareness the disease can go undiagnosed, leaving patients fearing they have developed a psychiatric illness. Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES) is an uncommon neurologic disease where patients can develop altered mentation and even seizures associated with inflammation in the brain. Subdural hematomas (SDHs) occur through tearing of bridging veins in the subdural space often through traumatic etiology in elderly adults.
